Flying Blue is the joint program of SkyTeam member Air France and KLM.
They consider Tel Aviv to be part of Europe which can make for some decent deals.
Flying Blue does charge fuel surcharges on their own flights but not on Delta flights. However availability is much better on their own flights than on Delta flights. When there is Delta availability though it’s significantly cheaper to book the Delta flights with Flying Blue miles than with Delta Skypesos.
-They normally charge 25,000 miles each way in coach and 62,500 miles each way in business to Israel but they run rotating promo awards valid for select cities.
-Promo awards are only valid on Air France or KLM.
-Travel is valid in either direction and is valid for one-way or round-trip travel.
-You need to book the current promo awards by 01/31.
-You need to travel with the current promo awards between 03/01-04/30.
-Promo awards are nonrefundable and non-changeable.
-Promo awards require Air France/KLM Flying Blue miles. You can’t use Delta miles for these awards and you can’t transfer Delta miles to Flying Blue.
Current deals:
-You can travel between Houston and Tel Aviv in March or April for 18,750 miles each way in coach.
-You can travel between Atlanta and Tel Aviv in March or April for 25,000 miles each way in premium economy.
-You can travel between Montreal or Toronto and Tel Aviv in March or April for 31,250 miles each way in business class.
-Air France premium economy gives a more comfortable seat with a leg rest, 20% more legroom, a 20% wider seat thanks to a 2-3-2 configuration rather than 2-4-2, gives 2 free checked bags, an amenity kit, and more. It’s a whole lot better than the sad “premium economy” offerings from the US carriers.
-You can transfer AMEX or Citi points to Flying Blue at a 1K:1K ratio or Starpoints to Flying Blue at a 20K:25K ratio.

AMEX MR points transfer to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio, Citi Thank You points from the Premier, Prestige, or Chairman cards transfer at a 1:1 ratio, and Starpoints transfer at a 20:25 ratio so 20K Starwood becomes enough for a round-trip ticket.

I don’t understand. If TLV is considerred Europe, there’s now a promo 25% off Europe – Brussels (and v.v.), but TLV-BRU is pricing 15K all throughout March, but it shoule be 7.5K?
What website do you use to search availability? I did not find TLV of Atlanta on the jetblue search site

Does anyone have experience doing the multiple 50 cent amazon transactions counting as separate transactions for the Mexican Everyday card? I heard they have to be on separate days?

Doesn’t look like Israel is pricing out at the promo rate on intra-Europe awards.
Back in the day it didn’t even price out on the North America awards. You had to call them and it was an extremely painful process.

Either way, no need for it to be separate days. Back to back to back works just fine.
So based on the one way flight you showed in the post, it looks like flying round trip Houston-TLV would run about $244 in taxes, right?
post would be more accurate with the following:
Houston-TLV on coach 18750 miles + $350 one way
for example

the dates i selected, NY-TLV, airfrance with a 3 hr stop in paris or amstrdm, cost 50,000 points and $282, the least expensive offered. is this actually a good deal? is it worth transferring my starwood points?

This might be unrelated to this post title so please pardon me but I don’t know where else could I post my questions. I have a couple questions, appreciate it a lot if you could please
help since I am in so much stress thinking of my first award tickets now:
1. I called AA to change my award ticket from AA F class to JAL F
class, the agent told me it won’t be any additional fee and she helped me to cancel the old booking and made new booking, she said it require the redeposit of miles into my AA account and refund for the tax and then it will automatically deduct the miles and charges for the tax from same credit card I used for the new booking. She gave me the record locator number. She said it takes few hours before it gets ticketed. I checked online on AA website and it says it still in “On Request†status since Dec 20. The tax fee for old booking has already been refunded to my credit card and also the miles also has been deposited into my AA account. But no charges made for the new booking yet. What gives?
Do you think I should wait it out until it gets automatically

My concern is, since the old award ticket from SFO-NRT and new one is SFO-HND, I am afraid if I call and get different agent they will tell me that I need to pay additional fee since the destination is different (NRT verse HND), while the agent who helped me canceled the old award ticket and rebooked the new award ticket said that there would be no additional fee.
If my award ticket is still “On Request†status, do anyone can see it available on BA.com and grab the spot/availability? or for sure I will get it since I made the booking over the phone. These are last seats on JAL F and I spent a lot of time checking it everyday until I saw it available, so I am really concerned.
2. If I have to call, do you think that certain day and time can
determine the agent who is working on that day/time is competent or not, for example, calling on Monday morning is better since more competent agent would be placed on the busy hours rather than weekends, or vice versa…..if so, what day or time do you recommend to call.
3. Can you please recommend the best lounge that I can access at SFO and NRT, if flying JAL First class?
